Amanda Plumb, MA, LPC, CCTP earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Services Counseling and Psychology from Old Dominion University in 2007. Ms. Plumb earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Regent University with honors in 2010. During her time at Regent University, Ms. Plumb was a member of Chi Sigma Iota Honor Society. Upon graduation, she then began and completed in 2013 the Virginia state required 4000-hour post graduate clinical residency which takes a minimum of three years. Upon taking and passing the Virginia Board of Counseling exam, she became a Licensed Professional Counselor (License # 0701005980) in 2013 in the Commonwealth of Virginia. In the state of VA the Board of Counseling requires every Licensed Professional Counselor to complete the license requirement of 20 hours of continuing education credit trainings every year.
Ms. Plumb is a member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP), American Counseling Association (ACA), and the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and Crisis Management. Ms. Plumb is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and also holds a certification in Family Centered Treatment. Ms. Plumb is also an approved Clinical Supervisor with Regent University and Haven Counseling a practicum and internship site by Regent University to provide clinical supervision and teaching to Practicum Students and Interns in the Master of Arts in Counseling who are working towards a Masters Degree in Counseling. Furthermore Ms. Plumb belongs to the Virginia Counselors Association and is completing the Clinical Supervisor Training and is in the process of becoming approved with the Virginia Board of Counseling to supervisor Counseling Residents working towards gaining their licensure.
Ms. Plumb works in collaboration with patients utilizing a person centered and strengths based approach, to pursue a course of action based on the patient’s unique needs, personality, and fundamental values using cutting edge therapeutic interventions and treatment modalities.
